🍃Wollemi Glowworms, Canyons and Waterholes🍃

Head out for a day of adventure in the pristine Wollemi National Park at some popular but harder to reach spots in the beautiful National Park. Join Hikeandseek for a exciting day out in the Glowworm Tunnel, spectacular walk in canyons and creeks that showcase just some of the pristine water ways and canyons systems in the Greater Blue Mountains as well as a bit of history of the Newnes area.

 
 

🌄Meeting Time and Location: 6:30am at Westmead Station (Conditionally able to be changed to suit tour participants) – Tour Participants will be driven to Wollemi National Park and guided for the whole day. The Canyons visited on this day do not require training and are generally walk-in but the participant’s due diligence and safety precautions are required and will be discussed.

Finish Time and Location: Approximately 6:00pm at same place as Pick Up Location

Tour Length: Approximately 5-6 hours

Cost: $170pp

Grade

  • Easy - Moderate Fitness (2.5/5)

  • Moderate Technical Difficulty (3/5)

Short moderate levels of incline required when walking. There will definitely be a bit of scrambling and possibly a small amounts of legs getting wet. Total Walking Distance will be approximately 15km. A small amount of pre-installed rope sections. (Feel free to enquire more about your fitness suitability for the day)

Group Size: Max 6 Participants

Extra Notes: Limited Mobile Reception expected on walks, Personal Photos + Tour Group Photos will be uploaded online and provided within a few days of the tour (Care will be taken to take as nice a photo for participants as possible for lasting memories), General Guide of the locations and other features of the Wollemi area will be given, along with recommendations for future visits and walks.

The Day’s Itinerary will be outlined to confirmed participants and I will go over any updates and requirements for the day. Any technical skills and/or safety required will be discussed. (Note: In terms of heavier rain during and directly before the hike, canyons will be substituted with other similar visits/walks for safety reasons)

👉🏼You will need to bring:

· Sun Protection

· Food and snacks for the day including lunch (Resting time will be given to have meals and snacks, alternatively this can also be purchased at certain points along the trip)

· Small Backpack

· Sturdy Hiking Shoes, Sturdy enclosed outdoor shoes recommended

· 3 Litres of Water (Half may be left in the car during the walks)

· Camera (Phone)

· Optional Hiking Poles and Gaiters

· Optional Swimwear (swimmable waterhole)

· Please let at least one other person know of your rough whereabouts for the trip.

· In light of the times, Hand Sanitizer

· Light warm jacket – for those more prone to cold

· Headlamp (Can be Burrowed for a small fee)

· Optional Waterproof Bag (Can be Burrowed for a small fee)
