🍃A Special Adventure into the Depths of Wollemi including Sunset🍃

*One off Pop Up Tour*

Join Hikeandseek on an adventurous day out discovering some of the varying walk-in canyons and landscapes of the spectacular Wollemi National Park. Heading into the lesser ventured unsealed roads of Wollemi National Park, you’ll quickly be immersed in the beautiful scent and sights of the area. Be ready to encounter some light scrambles, some tricky ropes and balance sections and plenty of chance encounters with beautiful waterways. Cap all of this with some beautiful valley views and a sunset over the Blue Mountains to end the day.

 
 

🌄Meeting Time and Location: 7:00am at Westmead Station (Conditionally able to be changed to suit tour participants) – Tour Participants will be driven to Wollemi National Park and to the sunset location to be guided for the whole day. The Canyons visited on this day do not require training and are generally walk-in but the participant’s due diligence and safety precautions are required and will be discussed.

⏰Finish Time and Location: Approximately 7:00pm at same place as Pick Up Location

⏱Tour Walking Length: Approximately 7 hours

Day Itinerary

There will be 3 locations visited throughout the day in the Greater Blue Mountains (inc. Wollemi National Park).

1.      Dry Canyon

2.      Wet Canyon

3.      Sunset over the Valley

All 3 will have a different feel and present different challenges for an exciting day.

Grade

  • Easy - Moderate Fitness (2.5/5)

  • Moderate Technical Difficulty (3/5)

Short moderate levels of incline required when walking. There will definitely be a bit of scrambling and possibly a small amounts of legs getting wet. Total Walking Distance will be approximately 15km. A small amount of pre-installed rope sections. (Feel free to enquire more about your fitness suitability for the day) You may  have a chance to swim in the pristine waterholes but the water temps will be undoubtedly cold.

Group Size: Max 6 Participants

Extra Notes: Limited Mobile Reception expected on walks, Personal Photos + Tour Group Photos will be uploaded online and provided within a few days of the tour (Care will be taken to take as nice a photo for participants as possible for lasting memories), General Guide of the locations and other features of the Wollemi area will be given, along with recommendations for future visits and walks.

👉🏼You will need to bring:

· Sun Protection

· Food and snacks for the day including lunch

· Small Backpack

· Sturdy Hiking Shoes, Sturdy enclosed outdoor shoes recommended

· 3 Litres of Water (Half may be left in the car during the walks)

· Camera (Phone)

· Optional Hiking Poles and Gaiters

· Optional Swimwear (swimmable waterhole)

· Please let at least one other person know of your rough whereabouts for the trip.

· In light of the times, Hand Sanitizer

· Light warm jacket – for those more prone to cold

· Headlamp (Can be hired for a small fee)

· Optional Waterproof Bag (Can be hired for a small fee)
